Love getting first tracks in October. It was a bit late this year. Last year was a week or two earlier. Doesn't look like much snow, but behind the camera on the MTN was more than enough. Only one good core shot! But you can still see a smile on my face. That's because I'm on the old reliable 1080s
You can see some people above the parking sign. I went up that way and continued up to the lone upper pine tree in the clearing. Not a full run and I'm sure the snow should have been much better all the way up, but I wasn't into the whole 2 hour hike up to the top. On the second turn I lost a ski. Had to hike up and get it. Definitely a great run in some nice snow.
Did some shopping today. Needed some ski boots and some climbing skins. The REI garage sale payed off again. Got the shorts that have a built in pad for about 14 bucks. The Mountain bike gloves were 8 bucks. Bought a book called snow sense. Its all about avalanche forecasting and predicting. Overall a total success.

Halloween :)
Gotta love a great Hawaiian shirt. Found this one to go with my school costume. I also got a fanny pack and a cool geico Caveman Visor.
Not really sure how this cloud formation formed but it's pretty cool.
This is Milton (the creator of hersheys choc.) and the enormous piece of foil that he needed to be wrapped up in to form the Hershey kiss.

Hot Wax.... Ouch!
The skis lined up for a good slathering. Cant wait to so skiing. They are predicting a bunch of rain/snow for the week. Maybe I will be hiking this weekend.
Nothing like a home hot wax. One thing about a store hot wax is that its off in a few runs. When i do it, I'm sure to put enough on to last for a while.

Rainy but colorful
We took a trip to our favorite place to have a fire and some hot cocoa. It seemed that as soon as we packed up the wood and other necessities the clouds opened up. Well at least we got to see the leaves while it rained. It is amazing near the bottom of the canyon. The colors just blow you away. I took this before the rain stopped. We eventually had our fire and hot cocoa. When the darkness set in, "you know who" became extremely nervous of being mauled by something with big claws and sharp teeth. Took the silhouette picture on the way down. Jodi's Mom will be here tonight and we will be taking her and Jodi's grandma up the canyon to see the leaves. You can put money on it!

Some old favorites
It never gets old looking at some old pictures on the computer. Looking back on fun times is always good. Hope you enjoy some of my good memories!
Its the world debut of the "JIG" Soon to be a world sensation!!!
Molly is pretty good at one thing. You guessed it. Laying next to my dad while he is gardening.
An image from the Thanksgiving Point Tulip Festival. We were too cheap to go in, but there were some great flowers on the outside of the gardens that we could take pictures of and see just the same.
Looks like this guy should be on the cover of GQ. Don't you think? Or at least a Rolex ad.
One of my favorites from Arches National Park in Moab
Nothing like being lonely in your cage all day. BAAAAAAHHHHHH
Just some good ol' boys gettin down on the pond."Stay in the front seat, stay in the front seat, stay in the front seat." I don't want him to yell at me again!!!

Af Canyon Fun. Some of my new favorite pictures
Slowing shutter speed and letting less light in does amazing things. Just check it out. Some of the best river pics I have taken so far.
In these blue looking pictures, I actually decreased the White balance to give them a cooler (color) appearance. And the following one was when it was turned back up. (warmer)

I little bit of Fall fun. Yee Hah!
Nothing like a little fall fun. This was at thanksgiving Point's Cornbelly corn maze and the Farmyard.
A really cool project at school on Friday. They lay yarn on the tacky wax paper over top of a web template. They then cover all of it with glue and it will dry over the weekend so that we can pull it off. Pretty cool when finished.
