Wide Angle

Finally purchased a wide angle lens. It is awesome!. A Tokina 11-16 F2.8. Spent a bit more to get a better lens but it was totally worth it. I'm still experimenting with it but i can tell that it was worth the money.

Horses near the house. His nose was about 6 inches from the lens. It looks like a lot more than that. Took a trip to Wendover Nevada when Pat was here and went to drive the car on the Salt Flats. Found out when we got there that they had about a foot of water on them. Oh well Better luck when it evaporates.

FASTEST Ice on Earth

Took a trip to the Utah Olympic oval. The same oval where a bunch of world records were set in 2002 during the Olympics in Salt Lake. It was as smooth as glass when we arrived. We were the first ones on the ice. What an experience!!

Valentines day

Took a trip to Moab for valentines day and had a great time. It was nice to get out of the Salt Lake area for a few days!! Our hotel was great and we had an amazing dinner on Saturday night. I rode Slickrock bike trail and we stuck around Arches national park so that we could see the sunset. I would say it was a successful weekend.

The original Mr. Barbato visits

Snowshoeing with dad. Even though there was no new snow, we still had a great time in the mountains.
Break time
Skiing at powder mountain. A great day.

A Bit of Backcountry

Decided after waiting an hour and a half in line to get to Alta that i was going to go to solitude for the day. Passed the Spruce campground in Big cottonwood and noticed that there were tons of people with the same idea that I had. I followed a bunch of people up through the aspen grove to this point. For my first hiking experience, I would consider it a success.

Great shot of Honeycomb Canyon at Solitude
The clouds cleared out just a I reached the top

The sun started peeking through the clouds as I approached the top of the trees.

Skied right through these trees on the way down.
The skin track was so serious. Everyone that passed me said that they couldn't believe how steep it was. The skis were slipping back at some points.
