S N O W!!!

I Knew it was coming. I could hardly contain myself at school with the snow in the mountains. We left and went home to get the camera. It was great. Well.... take a lookI cant take enough of these pictures.
Brrrr...
One of my favorites of the bunch. I Love this point of view. One more Flower trying to stick around....
This Fence is at The Tibble fork reservoir in AF canyon. It was another perfect shot with the fresh snow.

Fall is on the way

I know, We go up to AF canyon almost every day. The leaves are really turning and it is supposed to snow on Wednesday. That means that most of the leaves will be down after the storm. We took a pizza up (not Barbato's) :( We are heading up when it snows. The snow on the trees and the red and yellow leaves make for an awesome picture. Enjoy today's pictures.I cant get enough of the aspen trees. If you cant tell, most of the pics are Aspens. The yellow that they show in the fall cant even be seen through the lens of the camera. I cant wait to go this weekend when the light is much better.
This aspen grove was at about 8000 feet. I found it interesting that the aspens near 6000 ft were already yellow and near the summit they were still green. This is probably my favorite spot on the whole drive. These trees are enormous.

Its Coming!!!

I cant wait for winter. Think i'm just going to ski this year. I taught at solitude last year and had no time to ski. Not COOL! Dad and Lisa bought me the Alta Silver pass this year. (Thanks guys!) This gives me 39 dollar lift tickets all year long at Alta! Cant wait for those days off with 42 inches of fresh stuff. I often go to Alta.com to check out the Snowfall depths during the season and to look at the pictures of the day. Right now the Trees are beginning to turn. Another good site for pictures and current weather in the Canyons is snowbird.com
There's something about ski goggles that makes you cooler than everyone else!
These aspen trees were in Honeycomb Canyon at Solitude. This was taken on one of my few days of free skiing last year. The fact that it was my day off and also a beautiful day was just the perfect storm.

I often see moose in this meadow and it is also a popular sledding hill. Its not uncommon to see people sledding within 20-30 feet of a bull moose. You really cant see the hill off to the right. I don't think it compares to The Edinboro Holiday Inn hill.

Looking back on the summer

This is a great video of The Subaru and I giving it to the Bonneville Salt flats. It was one of the coolest things that I've ever done. We showed up with 1/4 tank of gas and when we left were lucky to make it to the gas station. I've never had so much fun wasting gas before.

There was so much salt in so many places inside and outside of the car. I spent an hour at the car wash digging out the wheel wells. I Actually had a clump of salt fall out in the Lowes parking lot last month that was the weight of a bowling ball. It was tucked into the rear bumper. The salt flats are a great place for pictures. The light off of the salt really does some cool things.

Hiking (Or Mountaineering) With Dad!!

This was a great day. It started off as a hike up a trail to a peak over 10,000 foot peak and turned into a wild assent of a loose scree field. Even though it was a bit CRAZY, I couldn't have imagined a more incredible day. And the best thing... the pictures to prove it.Doesn't get much better than this. When it comes to lunch spots, this is definitely in the top five.
This is where things took a turn for the worse. We attempted to climb straight down this face to the rad below. When we reached the point directly behind my dads camelback (dark grey behind those pines near his rear) we came to a place that was a sheer cliff. We were officially "cliffed out". We basically had to rock climb, with no ropes, back to the place we are in this picture. The most frightening thing I have ever done. It was about a
6 hour hike from the start before we were back at the car. A good learning experience!!! I think we will stick to the trail next time.

Saturday Evening in AF Canyon

Today was a great night for some shots. The light was great and the sun was about to drop out of the canyon. Had soaking wet feet from crossing the creek near Tibble Fork Rec Area. Enjoy
Another Great day in AF canyon. I know it seems like we head up there a lot. We do. How could you not? The scenery is amazing and its only 10 min away! If you want to check out more pictures (not taken by me) click HERE.
I thought these pictures are the best of the bunch. On the bottom river picture, I slowed the shutter speed way down to get the movement of the water. My personal favorite is of Jodi sitting in her camp chair. That is one of the pics that makes me want a wide angle lens. The grasshopper is only one of one million that you hear snapping so loudly as they fly by you.
I love taking close ups of objects with amazing color contrasts. I think the water drop was really the focal point in the picture.

Took some Pictures of us today in AF Canyon

There is nothing better than posing while I'm setting up the camera.
I think its the first sign of fall.

The clothing isn't Fancy but the pictures turned out great!
I also forgot to smile. I think I was to concerned with the picture coming out the way I wanted.
Enjoy

Bought myself some presents the day before my B -Day!!

Went to the REI garage sale today. It was crazy. The people were like women on that day when they have all of the wedding dresses half off. or like Black Friday at the mall. When we go there we had to pick a card from a deck and wait till our card was called. It was the first time in my life I couldn't wait to be called a queen.
- Salamon shoes $8.83
- Polorized Shades $3.83
- Perli Zumi Road bike gloves $2.83
- Petzl headlamp $8.83
- Basically stealing everyone's returned Stuff -PRICELESS!

Some of the many incredible sunsets in Utah

These are some of the sunsets from Bryce Canyon National Park. It was our first night in the park after we set up our camp site. The light was great. I Had the cir. polarized lens on the camera which seemed to really bring out the colors.
